Historic Hawai‘i Foundation wishes to thank everyone who supported the 2020 Historic Preservation Honor Awards livestream presentation on July 22nd.

Started in 1975, the Preservation Awards showcases the depth and strength of people in our communities who perpetuate Hawai‘i’s historic places and cultural heritage.  This year, through the generous support of sponsors and donors, the Awards presentation was held as a virtual program and honored 23 projects and individuals, along with the major anniversaries of 15 local organizations. Photographer David Franzen received the 12th Annual Frank Haines Award for Lifetime Achievement for his remarkable photography and documentation of Hawaii’s places and history. An audience of over 200 people joined the virtual program which featured a slideshow, an exclusive interview with Franzen and congratulatory messages from our sponsors.
