Foster Botanical Garden

The garden does not include any major architectural features, but consists of historic landscaping that includes a large number of historic trees. The Foster Botanic Garden, which was established in 1855, is significant for its association with the development of landscape architecture and horticultural research in Hawaii. The property is also significant for its involvement with historically significant individuals including Dr. William F. Hillebrand, Queen Liliuokulani, botanist Mary E. Foster, and plant pathologist and botanist Harold L. Lyon. This list of Hawaii’s historic properties is provided as a public service by Historic Hawaii Foundation.
