Abstract
The Albert and Alice Berg Residence, built in 1912, is a two-story structure with clapboard walls and a lateral running, hip-gable roof with open, overhanging eaves with exposed, carved rafter ends. The structure is three bays wide with an inset, centered, porte cochere. The bay to the left of the porte cochere has a two story, canted bay window. On the left side there is a single story, hip roofed, enclosed lanai. The structure is built on a post and pier foundation with a raised, lava rock perimeter. The Albert and Alice Berg Residence is significant as a good example of a Queen Anne revival style residence in Honolulu as well as for its associations with the development of Manoa valley, and more specifically the College Hills Tract.
