Guidelines for every section of the application and a checklist of all required documents are included in the RFP Instructions document.

HHF strongly recommends that applicants prepare all submittal requirements in advance, including responses to narrative sections; downloading and completing all required PDF forms; saving, labeling and compressing all photographs and other attachments; and completing photograph and budget worksheets. Information may be copied and pasted from the applicant’s prepared documents and attachments may be uploaded.

Use the “Save and Resume Later” option at the bottom of each section to save your progress. There will also be an opportunity to review and edit responses prior to submission.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required and must be completed/uploaded in order to proceed to the next page.

Section 1: Native Hawaiian Organization Information

Eligibility Requirement: The applicant must meet the definitions and criteria of a “Native Hawaiian Organization” as defined in the NATIVE Act, P.L. 114–221 (130 STAT. 847) Section 3(3) and codified at 25 U.S.C. §4352(3), and is:

1. A nonprofit organization;
2. That serves the interests of Native Hawaiians;
3. That is recognized for having expertise in Native Hawaiian culture and heritage, including tourism; and
4. In which Native Hawaiians serve in substantive and policymaking positions.

NHOs that have previously received funding through the NHO Stewardship Training Program are eligible for additional funding provided that the previously-approved project is complete and there are no outstanding reports or issues.
