Historic Hawai‘i Foundation’s Preservation Resource Center (PRC) provides people with the help they need to save the places they love. Whether they are a caretaker of an historic place, or simply someone who cares, Historic Hawai‘i Foundation is a great first stop to navigate the preservation maze.
Technical Assistance
The PRC gives people, organizations and businesses expert advice and assistance on topics such as:
Circuit Rider
Assistance from preservation professionals is available through regular visits to all of the Hawaiian islands. The Director of Field Services works with local communities across the state hosting classes, seminars and in-person visits to answer preservation questions.
Information Resources
PRC publications include a comprehensive guide to registering a property on the National and Hawai‘i Register of Historic Places, Hawai‘i Preservation Professional Directory, and resource and technical guides. In addition, the PRC library includes a clearinghouse of preservation information on a variety of topics, from preserving cultural landscapes to historic window repair.
The Preservation Resource Center is made possible through grants from the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) Partners in the Field challenge grant, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, McInerny Foundation, the Atherton Family Foundation and through the generous support of Historic Hawai‘i Foundation’s members and donors.
