Address 240 Kaiulani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-3-015:020 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-7455 National Register of Historic Places #03001311 This Property is not on the Hawaiian State Register of Historic Places Abstract The Guard House is an imposing two-story wood frame mansion set on a high knoll above the Wailuku River gulch. The house is designed in a Neoclassical Revival style with a broad, partially glassed-in verandah which encloses the long front and entrance end. The Guard House is significant as one of the most intact examples of a Neoclassical home in Hawaii. The house has further significance for its association with noted Hawaii architects Ripley & Davis, who designed the home. 141 Kaiulani Street/ W. H. Shipman Residence

Address 141 Kaiulani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-3-015:004 and :005 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-7405 National Register of Historic Places #78001013 Abstract The Shipman Residence is located on Reed's Island, in the outskirts North of Hilo, on a sloping ridge between the Wailuku River and the small Waikapu Stream. The complex of buildings includes the large main house, a smaller guest house, a garage, and a servant's quarters in back of the edge of the stream gulch. The Shipman Residence was the first house built in the exclusive area known at that time as Reed's Island. The Residence is a noteworthy example of a turn-of-the-century large mansion-style family home. 39 and 55 Ululani Street/ Michael Victor Houses

Address 39 and 55 Ululani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-3-014:002 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-1101 Abstract The Michael Victor Houses are two dwellings sitting on adjacent lots. The older of the two houses, 39 Ululani Street, was constructed in 1906. It is a one-story frame building sitting about five feet above grade on wood piers with stone footings. 55 Ululani Street dates between 1907 and 1914 and mirrors the floor plan of its neighbor. The Victor Houses are architecturally significant as good examples of turn-of-the-century, vernacular housing in Hilo. They embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, and method of construction.

Address 13-6314 Kalapana Kapoho Beach Road TMK (3) 1-3-004:018 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-55-7384 Abstract The Opihikao Evangelical Church Residence is a single story, frame swelling with a corrugated iron hipped roof. The house is sited on a large, flat, highly vegetated parcel of land which has a stone wall encircling it. The residence stands as a rare example of a middle-class nineteenth-century Hawaii homesite in the Puna district. Its floor plan and use of materials make it a good example of a modest late-Victorian cottage built in Hawaii. The property is also significant for its associations with the development of the Congregational Church in Opihikao and the community in general. Address 11-3991, 3992, 4000 & 4006 Hale Ohia Road, Volcano, Hawaii 96785 TMK (3) 1-1-005:024, :026, :028, :033 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-53-7521 Abstract Hidden from the main thoroughfare by a thick grove of trees, in an area laden with ohia trees, is a small subdivision marked by two large lava rock pillars called Hale Ohia Tract. Some typical features include corrugated roofs and lava rock chimneys. Styles in this concentration of historic homes vary greatly. The Hale Ohia Tract is significant for its varied, intact concentration of architectural examples, such as one of only two known true log cabins in Hawaii, Craftsman bungalows, and examples of single wall construction. The area is further significant as a representative portion of Volcano Village, a favorite vacation spot of affluent society. The house was  moved south fifty feet and east fifty feet, however if remains in the same orientation and condition as originally built. The residence is one of three remaining structures on this two-acre site. The Lindsey House is significant as a remarkably intact example of the vernacular architecture that dotted the sloped landscape in this area of Hawaii. It is further significant for its association with Parker Ranch and the Lindsey family, both major forces influencing the development of this area. The walls are board and batten on two facades and cedar shingles on the weather-facing facades. The house was moved in May of 2005. The house is significant as a fine example of a vernacular Hawaiian Paniolo-style cowboy homestead. Address 55-3456 Akoni Pule Highway, Hawi, Hawaii 96719 TMK (3) 5-5-015:041 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-02-7512 Abstract The Hawi Plantation Manager's House is a large, two-story shiplap house high on a sloping lawn. The house features a wraparound lanai (which has been enclosed) on the west side of the first story and a corrugated metal hip roof. The floor plan reveals an asymmetric layout. Although the house has lost a considerable amount of historic fabric on the interior and with the enclosure of the lanai, the overall massing and setting has remained intact and it is important for its association with the development of sugar in North Kohala and for its association with the Hind family. It is three bays wide and has a verandah which wraps around the left side of the house. The house is significant architecturally as a good example of a late nineteenth-/early twentieth-century plantation manager's house built in Hawaii. It is also significant for its association with the development of the sugar industry in North Kohala. Address 44-3031 Kalopa Road, Honokaa, Hawaii 96727 TMK (3) 4-4-006:022 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-08-7499 Abstract The Paauhau Plantation Manager's House is a large, single-story bungalow constructed of redwood. It was built in 1925 and served as the home of the plantation manager until 1972. The house sits on a hillside overlooking the ocean and has a palm-lined drive swinging across the two-acre front lawn up to the house. The house is significant as an extant example of a sugar plantation manager's house from the 1920s. Architecturally, the house is significant as a very large-scale bungalow.
