Address 3865 Hanapepe Road, Hanapepe, Kauai 96716 TMK (4) 1-9-004: 008 SHPD Historic Site Number 30-09-9389 National Register of Historic Places #93001033 Abstract The former Pool Hall at Hanapepe Town Lot #18 is a long building which sits on the main road of the once thriving town.  The building is a one story, single wall building constructed of vertical tongue and groove boards.  The front elevation has a false front and an awning roof over the side walk. Pool Hall is a surviving example of the vernacular wood commercial buildings constructed in Hawaii in the early twentieth century.  The building is also significant for its associations with the growth of the town of Hanapepe. Address Russian Fort Elizabeth State Historical Park, Waimea, Kauai 96766 TMK (4) 1-7-005: 003 SHPD Historic Site Number 30-05-1000 National Historic Landmark National Register of Historic Places #66000299 Abstract This 17.5 acre land parcel is the site of Russian Fort Elizabeth, a large irregular octagon-shaped stone structure, that sits on the banks of the Waimea River. It is 300 to 450 feet in cross diameter and features 25-45 foot rock walls some of which are 20 feet high, with the stone foundations of a magazine, barracks, and other buildings still extant. The Fort is the most impressive reminder of attempts by the Russians to gain a position of influence in the Hawaiian Islands during the early 19th century. Later occupied by Hawaiian troops it was abandoned in 1853. This list of Hawaii’s historic properties is provided as a public service by Historic Hawaii Foundation. Address 4493 Moana Road, Waimea, Kauai 96796 TMK (4) 1-6-007: 032 SHPD Historic Site Number 30-05-9318 National Register of Historic Places #96000398 Abstract The Yamase Building is a two-story, wood-frame, tongue-and-groove structure that was built in a curved form on a corner lot along the main thoroughfare of Waimea, a small town in West Kauai. It has a rectangular wood shingle gable roof with small hip ends that cantilevers at the corner at approximately 20 feet from the first floor supporting wall and also features gable end walls with wood louvered vents. The Yamase Building is significant as a very distinctive representative of commercial architecture in rural Hawaii built by an itinerant Japanese temple builder named Murukama. It is also significant for its association with the development of commerce in Waimea town and the success of immigrants in Hawaii.   Address 4525 Panako Road, Waimea, Kauai 96796 TMK (4) 1-6-006: 033 SHPD Historic Site Number 30-05-9311 National Register of Historic Places #78001026 Abstract The Bishop First National Bank (Bishop National Bank of Hawaii) is a single-story concrete structure that retains the majority of its original exterior appearance; however the interior has been extensively remodeled. The exterior features Ionic columns, a dentil cornice with crown molding, a partially balustraded parapet, and central stairs leading to the raised first floor entrance. The interior has a coffered ceiling, and in the center of the ceiling is a rectangular skylight with a molded frame. The Bishop First National Bank was designed by John Mason and built by J.L.
