Help Protect Hawai‘i’s History and Heritage by
Making a Gift to Historic Hawai‘i Foundation’s Annual Fund

Aloha kākou,

HHF President Vernon Wong

It’s the time of year when we count our blessings, and I count the commitment the people of Hawai‘i have shown in working together and supporting one another throughout this pandemic near the top of my list.  The value we place on family and heritage help guide us through difficult times.

Without question, places of history and heritage play a special role in our recovery as sources of strength and hope.  Historic main streets, sacred places, and community landmarks connect us to the past, to those who came before us, and to one another.  These important touchstones are essential to the vitality of our neighborhoods and livelihood, and it is our shared kuleana to protect them.

Together with your support, Historic Hawai‘i Foundation plays a critical leadership role in serving as a steadfast advocate, educational resource and community partner, helping people save historic places throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

This holiday season, please help continue HHF’s important work by making a gift to HHF’s Annual Fund.  Due to the continued restrictions on gathering, Historic Hawai‘i Foundation has made the difficult decision to cancel its annual Kama‘āina of the Year Benefit for a second consecutive year.  This cancellation has a significant impact on the Foundation’s financial condition. We ask for your kōkua to help sustain the organization through the coming year by supporting HHF with a year-end donation.

Your gift will help strengthen Hawai‘i’s communities today and in the future through these outcomes:

  • Provide training and workshops that enable people to understand preservation standards and guidelines
  • Build a community where people can share best practices and resources
  • Involve people in opportunities to act as advocates and collaborators
  • Support legislation that supports historic places as vital community resources
  • Preserve historic buildings and landmarks through technical and funding assistance
  • Deliver educational programs that foster a deeper appreciation of history and heritage
  • Promote an inclusive telling of history of all people and cultures
  • Foster an awareness of preservation’s role in climate change prevention and resource management

Please use the secure online form at right to make your donation, or if you prefer to pay by check, please mail your check payable to Historic Hawai‘i Foundation, 680 Iwilei Road, Suite 690, Honolulu, HI 96817.  If you have questions, please contact Beth Iwata for further information.

Mahalo for your support of Historic Hawai‘i Foundation and the preservation of Hawai‘i’s historic places.
