Abstract
The Honoka’a United Methodist Church is eligible for the Hawai’i and National Registers of Historic Places at the State Level under Criteria A and C.  Criterion A (History/Events): The Honoka’a Methodist Church is historically important in its function of meeting the religious needs of immigrant populations in Hawai’i.  It served both the Congregationalist and Methodist Protestant Denominations.  Criterion C (Architecture): The Honoka’a Methodist Church building retains its historical integrity in terms of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship, feeling and association.  The building is a fine example of Gothic revival style as rendered in wood, reflecting the materials and carpentry skills available at the time of construction.
