Abstract
This two-story residence, which was constructed in 1940, features a hipped roof with overhanging eaves and exposed rafter tails, front facing pavilion plan, wood slat shutters, a transom window with decorative night blooming cereus screen over the front door, and a bowed bay window with upper story balcony on the rear facade. The John and Jane Millen Residence is significant as an intact example of an Italian Villa revival style form influenced by the Modern Movement in Hawaii in the late 1930s.
