The Paul L. and Eleanor Burgher Residence, built in 1948, is located in the Nu’uanu Dowsett area, sitting on a large, 11,529 square toot lot that gently slopes down from the street. The modern style house sits on a concrete slab foundation, while the rear wing has a wood post and pier foundation. The Paul L. and Eleanor Burgher Residence is significant as a well designed, modern style residence constructed in Hawaii during the late 1940s. Rendered in a modern style the house is typical of its period with its fine attention to detail, and numerous built-ins.
