Abstract
The August M. and Emilia Rego Cottage A is a 625 square foot house with hipped roof, open overhanging eaves with rafter tails, and stucco-concrete hollow tile walls with attached carport and was built in 1946. The August M. and Emilia Rego Cottage A is significant as an example of a modest vernacular style residence built in Honolulu during the post-World War II housing shortage. It is also a fairly rare architectural example of the use of hollow tile in a single family home built during the 1940s.
