Abstract
The Yee/ Kobayashi Store is a two-story frame commercial building which is located at the northwest corner of Queen and Kamani Streets. The building was constructed in 1918 and is rectangular in plan, of double wall construction, and terminates with a composition shingle hip roof with a gablet. The Yee/ Kobayahi Store is architecturally significant as an increasingly rare example of a small, wooden commercial building typical of its period in Kakaako. It is also significant for its associations with the development of Kakaako during the early 20th century and its association with the history of retail trade in the district.
