Address Keawaiki Bay, North Kona District, Hawaii 96740 TMK (3) 7-1-003:003, 012, 013 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-19-7498 National Register of Historic Places #86001616 Abstract This site is a 15-acre beach front parcel "oasis of greenery" that is surrounded by barren lava.  The property consists of a large fishpond and a smaller natural pool; also on the property are four main structures, and ten smaller buildings. Each of the structures have walls constructed of lava rock and low-pitch hip roofs. The Francis H. Ii Brown Beach Residence is significant as an example of a Kona coast beach cottage complex of the 1920s, its potential to yield information about Hawaii's past, and its associations with Francis H. Address 72 Halaulani Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-6-006:027 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-9069 National Register of Historic Places #11000058 Abstract The Parker Residence sits on a sloping lot and overlooks Pukihae stream. The single-story, single-wall bungalow has a corrugated metal hip roof with overhanging closed eaves, and an outset, intersecting gable-roofed porch that dominates the left side of the facade.  The structure has vertical tongue and groove walls and double-hung sash window with a single-pane bottom sash, and an upper sash with six panes. The Parker Residence is significant for its associations with the development of Halaulani Place as well as the development of Hilo. Address 105 Halaulani Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-6-006:017, 025 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-9069 National Register of Historic Places #11000056 Abstract The Moses Residence is a single-story bungalow distinguished by an outset porch that wraps around its southeast corner and dominates the two principal elevations of the house. The porch has a slightly pitched flat roof with overhanging eaves with exposed rafter tails that are decoratively carved. The Moses Residence is significant at the local level for its associations with the development of Halaulani Place as well as the development of Hilo. The house was one of the first five houses constructed in the subdivision. The home is also significant for its architecture as a good example of a bungalow constructed in Hawaii in the 1920s. The porch sits on a lava-rock foundation and features a plank balustrade with jigsaw decorative patterns as well as overhanging, closed eaves with ornately carved bracketing. The Hill Residence is significant for its architecture as a good example of a Craftsman style house constructed in Hawaii during the 1920s. Address 31 Halaulani Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-6-006:011 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-7516 National Register of Historic Places #97000406 Abstract The A.J. Williams Residence is a Craftsman style house with intersecting gables supported by triangular brackets. This one-story structure features a battered wall foundation of coursed, cut lava rock which is nearly one-story high at the front of the structure.  The roof is corrugated metal with exposed rafters, and a shed roof which covers a portion of the porch and features decorated rafter ends.  The walls at the porch area and gable ends are clad in horizontal boards and the remainder of the house is clad in vertical boards. The A. J. Williamson Residence is significant for its association with the development of this once-exclusive neighborhood in Hilo populated by many professionals and business people influential in Hilo's development.  It is also significant for its association with A. J. Williamson, the engineer who designed the Halaulani Place plan and was the designer of many railway, road, ditch, flume, and bridge constructions. Address 40 Halaulani Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-6-006:008 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-9069 National Register of Historic Places #11000059 Abstract The Lyman Residence is a two-story Colonial Revival style house with a corrugated metal, gable roof with gable returns, and it sits on a downhill sloping lot. Single-story wings extend from each side of the main body of the house. The east wing has a roof similar to the main body while the west wing, a 1949 addition, has a hipped roof. The facade is characterized by a second-story balcony. This property is significant for its associations with the development of Halaulani Place as well as the development of Hilo.  In addition, it is significant for its associations with Levi Lyman and Merrill L. Carlsmith, as well as for being a good example of Colonial Revival residential construction and for its remodeling in 1948 following the designs of Vladimir Ossipoff, one of the foremost architects working in Hawaii during the immediate postwar period. Address 52 Halaulani Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TMK (3) 2-6-006:007 SHPD Historic Site Number 10-35-9069 National Register of Historic Places #11000060 Abstract The Truslow Residence sits on a sloping lot and the house overlooks Pukihae stream.  This bungalow-style residence is distinguished by an octagonal sitting room at its northeast corner and an outset lanai running across the remainder of the facade. The structure sits on a lava-rock post and pier foundation and the walls of the house are clapboard. The Truslow Residence is significant for its associations with the development of Halaulani Place as well as the development of Hilo.  This residence was one of the first five houses constructed on Halaulani Place and is associated with the Security Trust Company's vice president H. A. Truslow, as well as Ellen G. Lyman.  In addition, the property is also a good example of a bungalow constructed in Hawaii in the 1920s. The single story bungalow is distinguished by its front-facing gable roofed, lava-rock porch and double-hung sash windows with diamond panes in the upper sash. The Henderson Residence was constructed in 1925 and is architecturally significant as a good example of a bungalow constructed in Hawaii during the 1920s.
