840 15th Avenue/ Kin and Lau Shee Lum Residence

Address 840 15th Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815 TMK (1) 3-2-051:025 SHPD Historic Site Number 80-14-9088 Abstract Built in 1926, the Lum Residence is a single-story masonry house finished with stucco, and is T-shaped in plan with a prominent, outset hip roofed with a center wing. The center wing intersects with a gable roofed wing to the right, and a demi-octagonal hip roofed wing to the left. The Kin and Lau Shee Lum Residence is significant as a good example of a modest Mediterranean revival house constructed in Hawaii in the period of the 1920s. The house is typical of its period in its use of materials, method of construction, craftsmanship, and design. The Lum Residence was designed by Robert Kuhns. 747 Ocean View Drive/ George H. Miller House

Address 747 Ocean View Drive, Honolulu, HI 96816 TMK (1) 3-2-055:030 SHPD Historic Site Number 80-14-9030 Abstract Built in 1936, the Miller House is a one-and-a-half story structure with a complex hipped roof with overhanging eaves. The walls are clad in five-inch vertical boards and the foundation is constructed of lava rock. The house is entered through the living room and a hallway off the living room leads to the bedrooms, bathroom, and den. Located directly off of the living room is the kitchen and a sunroom. The George H. Miller House is significant for the land association with Charles S. Crane and for its association with George H. Miller. 4258 Pu‘u Panini Place/ Marshall M. Goodsill Residence

Address 4258 Pu‘u Panini Place, Honolulu, HI 96816 TMK (1) 3-2-061:007 SHPD Historic Site Number 80-14-9010 Abstract Built in 1953, this single-story residence has a lateral running roof with broad overhanging closed eaves, a vertical tongue and groove front wall, and a garden landscape with Asian design influences. The interior features: bleached redwood ceiling and walls; a central lanai overlooking a landscaped courtyard; built-in shelves, cabinets, and furniture; pocket doors and screened openings; a rounded masonry fireplace; and a children's wing. The Marshall M. Goodsill Residence is significant as an example of the work of master architect Vladimir Ossipoff. It is also significant for its association with Marshall Goodsill, a prominent Honolulu attorney. 1305 Center Street/ Albert R. “Sonny” Cunha House

Address 1305 Center Street, Honolulu, HI 96816 TMK (1) 3-3-007:012 SHPD Historic Site Number 80-14-9853 Abstract The Albert R. "Sonny" Cunha House was built in 1926 in Kaimuki, Oahu. It is a two-story wood frame house on a raised platform and lattice foundation.  The interior retains much of the original materials including: oak flooring, wood paneling, and coffered ceiling. The Albert R. "Sonny" Cunha House is significant for its association with Sonny Cunha the Hawaii musician, composer and politician who played an important role in promoting and popularizing hapa haole style songs in the early 20th century. This two-story residence has a hip shaped roof, wide overhanging eaves, an upper story with board and batten walls and a lower story of double-wall construction with exterior wood shingles. The interior retains many detailed features of the original structure including paneled wainscoting, a paneled ceiling, crown moulding and decorative hardware. The Antonio Victorino Soares and Arcenia Fernandes Soares Residence is significant as an intact example of the "Hawaiian Style" bungalow built in Hawaii in the 1920s and 1930s. Address 3704 Anuhea Street, Honolulu, HI 96816 TMK (1) 3-3-016:066 SHPD Historic Site Number 80-14-9008 Abstract The Lemon Wond Holt Residence, built in 1932, is a two-story, fantasy picturesque style house sited on a 5,936 square foot lot. A lava rock retaining wall, rising approximately eight feet high dominates the street frontage. The expansive, double wall, balloon frame house sits on a lava rock foundation and is characterized by a prominent, playful roofline; off-center portico with a skewed gable roof; and fanciful Tudoresque applied ornamentation. The Lemon Wond Holt Residence is significant as a good example of a modestly detailed, fantasy picturesque style residence constructed in Hawaii in the period of the late 1920s, early 1930s, and also for its associations with the Holts, a prominent Hawaiian family in Honolulu. The foundation is built primarily of lava rock and the structure has a steeply pitched front-facing gable roof. The Crutchfield Residence is significant as a representation of the urban expansion and residential development of Maunalani Heights and as a modest example of Tudor Revival style architecture. The structure is double wall, balloon frame construction on a lava rock foundation. The Joseph and Jean Skorpen Residence is significant as a good example of a Dean Lake residence constructed in Hawaii in the period of the late 1920s and early 1930s. In addition, it is significant for its associations with the development of Maunalani Heights, and the Skorpens who were prominent in the field of education in Honolulu. Address 1526 Wilhelmina Rise, Honolulu, HI 96816 TMK (1) 3-3-032:009 SHPD Historic Site Number 80-14-9833 Abstract Hale Hani Court, constructed in 1938, features five houses situated along a shared central driveway.  Each house has a steeply double pitched roof, an upper story main living area with garage and maid's quarters below, a small entry porch, built-in bookcase, china closet and cabinet, and ten-foot high ceilings with crown mouldings. Hale Hani Court is significant as an example of a residential courtyard associated with the development of the Kaimuki area of Honolulu. Each cottage is also an example of a Craftsman style bungalow with "Hawaii Regional" influences built in Honolulu in the 1930's.
