Provide Your Input for Preservation Priorities and Values
11/1/2024: Historic Hawai‘i Foundation has a mission to preserve and encourage the preservation of historic buildings, sites, structures, objects and districts related to the history of Hawai‘i.
Over HHF’s 50-year history, the mission has remained consistent and clear. The methods by which we engage our community and focus our efforts need to be periodically examined and adjusted as community needs evolve, opportunities arise and capacity changes.
To provide direction, structure and accountability for achieving this mission, HHF uses strategic plans to provide a framework of goals, objectives, strategies and measurements of effectiveness. We review the outcomes and any changed conditions to update the strategic framework every 5-7 years.
In the next year, Historic Hawaiʻi Foundation is looking towards the future by updating our five-year Strategic Plan. This plan update is particularly momentous given how much has changed in Hawaiʻi since the time we adopted our current Strategic Plan (2018-2023).
We ask for the assistance of our members, partners and community stakeholders in providing early input through two methods:
- 1
Complete a Survey: The survey takes about 10 minutes. All responses are aggregated and not personally identifiable. Take the Survey here.
- 2
Review and comment on HHF current Strategic Plan. Download the PDF or view the Story Map.
After review, please provide comments on what you think works well, areas that should be enhanced, issues that have developed or concepts for increasing effectiveness. The SmartComment link will be open until until January 31.
As we examine the opportunities and needs for preservation throughout the Hawaiian Islands, this early input will be invaluable to our analysis. Thank you for taking the time to provide thoughtful input as we work together to save Hawaii’s historic places.
