Abstract
Frank James, a real estate developer, constructed the home as an investment in 1928. The architect is unknown. It is significant under Criterion C as good example of Hawaiian Style House built in Honolulu during the 1920s. Key elements of this style include the home’s double pitched hipped roof, single wall construction, and use of lava rock in the foundation. The home also includes original board and batten walls, fir floors and canec walls and ceiling with corner built-in cupboards.
