The Collier Residence is significant on the local level as a good example of a modern-style house built in Honolulu during the 1960s. The house includes a number of distinctive features and is typical of its period in its design, materials, workmanship and methods of construction. In addition, it is the work of a master, architect Harry Seckel, FAIA. The house is also significant at the local level for its associations with the development of Woodlawn Terrace subdivision.
