Abstract
The Tahitienne Cooperative Apartment is located on the “Gold Coast” of Waikiki, near the Diamond Head end of Kalakaua Avenue.  Situated along the shoreline, the apartment offers fantastic views of Waikiki, the Pacific Ocean, and Diamond Head.  Located within walking distance of Kapiolani Park, the nine-story apartment building is rendered in a Modern, Utilitarian style and is three bays wide on its street side.  It is characterized by a right-of-center, outset vertical circulation shaft with a windowless wall of scored concrete. This 1950’s masonry building sits on a flat, 17,170 square foot lot and is approximately 30 feet from the ocean wall.  A lawn, dotted with palm trees, separates the building from the lava rock seawall, and on the mauka side of the building a black top parking lot runs from the front of the building to the street.
